FAQ

How do I access Zoom classes?
Book through our booking system for the class of your choice. You will be emailed with a link to the Zoom meeting (check your junk folder if you haven’t received it).
Make sure you have downloaded the Zoom app for your laptop or device and click the link in the email when it’s time for class. You will be in a digital waiting room until class is ready to start. Please note that if no one is in the waiting room for class by 10 minutes after class is due to have begun, the meeting will be closed – please try to be on time!

Do you offer in-person classes?
Currently my classes are operating solely on Zoom. If you are interested in live classes, please email juniperdancefitness@gmail.com to join the mailing list for when new in-person classes in Wolverhampton are added.

Do I need to have my camera on?
While I would prefer to see you so I can ensure your maximum safety while exercising, I understand that there might be occasions where you need to keep your camera off during Zoom classes. In that case, please make sure you confirm that you are there and you can hear the instructor, and please ensure that your space is suitable for taking the class.

Can I pay for the class and get a recording to do it later?
I do not currently offer this as an option, but I do have a subscription service where you can access a library of over 100 dance and fitness videos which is ever expanding, as well as On Demand videos of recorded workshops that were previously taught live.

What should I wear?
Whatever class you’re attending you need to wear clothing that you’re comfortable moving in. Leggings and a form fitting top is usually best so that the teacher is able to see your body moving and be able to offer corrections for your safety.

Are there any age restrictions?
My classes are designed for adults. Children under the age of 16 are welcome to attend with a parent as long as both parent and child participate in the class. Children are not permitted to sit and watch classes. Please note that as my classes are catered towards adults, there may be adult language in music played during some classes. There is no maximum age limit.

Do I need any special equipment?
Each class will have a note in its description to advise you if you need to bring anything with you. For Pilates an exercise mat is required and you may wish to have blocks/straps or foam roller but these are not essential. For Vintage Bellydance you will need finger cymbals (though these are optional). For all other classes I recommend to bring water and a notebook and pen in case you wish to take notes during or after class. If taking a class online you’ll need a laptop/tablet/phone with the Zoom app. Please note that due to Covid restrictions I am unable to loan any equipment during any sessions, and you will need to provide your own for your personal use during class.

I have a health condition, can I still participate in classes?
It is important to let the teacher know in advance if you have a health condition or injury that may affect your ability to participate in exercise. Furthermore, you may need to seek the advice of your doctor before beginning an exercise regime. It is always advisable to seek advice from a medical professional. If taking a class with us for the first time, please complete the Par-Q.

I’m pregnant, can I still participate in classes?
Absolutely, providing there are no medical reasons that you should not exercise. You should first seek the advice of your doctor to ensure that there are no conditions related to your pregnancy that may prevent your participation in exercise. However most ‘normal’ pregnancies will only be enhanced by continuing to exercise. Both Pilates and Bellydance are thought to be excellent preparatory exercise forms for pregnancy. Do email or call me for advice on which classes might suit you and your pregnancy or to arrange a 1:1 session.

Do you have a cancellation policy?
Class payments are non-refundable. If you give more than 48 hours notice on missing a class, you may make up this missed class another time – any less than 48 hours notice and your class is considered taken. Any unused classes on expired class cards are non-refundable. There are no refunds on late cancellations – studio hire is expensive and I rely on regular attendance to keep your classes running. If I have to cancel a class for any reason, your payment will be reimbursed as class credit via my booking system for you to spend on a future class.
